Internalising the Company’s Values
Context
Most organisations consciously choose their values. These values only become truly significant when they are recognisable in the day-to-day internal processes and in services delivered to internal and external clients.
Values inspire behaviour from within and thus go beyond specific learned behavioural patterns. Internalizing the company’s values and, as a team, deciding what this means for its day-to-day operations is crucial.
Objectives
Paricipants internalise the company’s values by actively working with them. They evaluate their team’s performance by using the values as a frame of reference. Based on this evaluation, they define specific points for improvement. Each of these points will be translated into an action plan that needs to be supported by the whole team, both when it comes to its execution as its follow-up.
The goal of internalizing and consolidating the company’s values is to improve cooperation, involvement and commercial attitude.
Approach
The full path consists of 3 steps:
- Start-up: based on a questionnaire, the team defines its own points for improvement
- Time Out: 1 day on location in which participants write concrete action plans
- Follow-up: Checking and discussing the progress that has been made: “what was successful and what needs to be adjusted?”
Participants
All members of one team, including all hierarchical levels involved in its daily functioning.
Some parts of the process strongly benefit from the presence of a member of higher management.
